Dams and Water Control Structures
The Province of Nova Scotia owns more than 50 dams and other water-control structures. Nova Scotia Lands has accessed federal funding to do risk assessments on 22 of these structures over the past two years. NS Lands continues to work with other departments and agencies to develop safety plans for dams and water control structures to mitigate against risks from severe weather events, such as flooding or breaches.
